Recent droughts, large fire outbreaks, and wildfire smoke have captured the attention of forest landowners and the general public. Will this be the “new normal” as the climate continues to warm? We will examine the basics of wildfire and explore how the frequency and magnitude of fires may change in the future, including in western Washington. We will also consider how landowners can evaluate fire risk to forests and structures, and what can be done to reduce that risk. This webinar will be presented by retired U.S. Forest Service scientist and University of Washington Professor Emeritus Dr. Dave Peterson.
The webinar is free, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.
