2025 San Juan Islands Forest Owners Field Day – San Juan Island September 27th
An out-in-the-woods education event
Forests in the San Juan Islands have unique characteristics and challenges. WSU Extension Forestry presents the 2025 San Juan Islands Forest Owners Field Day to help you learn about forest issues specific to the San Juan Islands, foster healthy and resilient forest conditions, and achieve your goals for your property. The Field Day features a full day of workshops covering a wide variety of topics in a family-friendly, out-in-the-woods setting with state and local experts. The Field Day will also feature exhibits by local agencies and organizations that assist owners of forested property.
When and Where
Schedule of Events
- 8:00 a.m. – Gates open, time to mingle with vendors
- 9:00 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. – Field Day workshops rotating every hour
- 12:20 – 1:20 p.m. – Lunch (not provided – bring your own)
- 1:20 – 3:30 p.m. – Field Day workshops rotating every hour
Location
This year’s Field Day will be at the Three Meadows Community at Three Meadows Ln and Roche Harbor Rd outside Friday Harbor.
What to Expect
Field Day logistics
- Water and restrooms will be available at the Field Day
- This is an outdoor field day. Please come ready for the elements (comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, rain jacket, layers).
- There will be vendor exhibits where you can browse and network with forestry professionals during the Field Day and during the lunch hour.
- The workshop stations are located in the woods, within a 5-minute walk from the registration and exhibit area unless otherwise noted. Travel between stations and activities at some stations may involve walking over rough, uneven terrain. A walking stick is recommended. Disability accommodation info is below.
- There will be five workshop sessions. For each workshop session, you will get to pick from the workshops offered for that session time. A schedule showing what workshops are offered at what times (and the station locations) will be provided when you arrive. The sessions will run one hour, followed by ten minutes to walk to your next workshop.

Cost and Registration
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration will NOT be available on site. Registration will close at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 or whenever the event sells out, whichever is first. Cancellation requests must be received by 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 to be eligible for a refund. Eventbrite processing fees are non-refundable.
Cost
The registration fee is $30 per individual or $45 per couple from the same household/ownership. Youth under 18 are welcome and may attend at no additional cost.
