Learn More and Work on Your Plan
Recommended Activities
- Make a list of all the wildlife species (birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians) that you are aware of that use your property (based on sightings, tracks, droppings, etc.).
- Make an inventory of the wildlife habitat features on your property. Use the Wildlife Habitat Inventory Sheet (PDF) if you wish.
- Identify some activities you would like to undertake to enhance wildlife habitat on your property (e.g., thinning, gap creation, habitat piles, nest boxes, snag creation).
- Use the information above to draft the wildlife section (Resource Category 6) of your plan, using the Wildlife Section Examples as a guide. You may have some “holes” in this section that you won’t be able to fill in until after your site visit and/or the field trip. We will provide information on any potential threatened or endangered species or priority habitats on your property.
