Creating Healthy, Wildfire-Safe and Wildlife-Friendly Forests
This event will help landowners enhance, protect and manage their forest property for optimum health now and for future generations. Join us for a Saturday of learning about Forest Health and Management.
We’ll spend the morning in the classroom covering forest health and management: what a healthy forest looks like, common threats like insects, disease, and wildfire, and practical steps you can take on your own property. You’ll hear from people who work with these issues every day, and there will be plenty of time for your questions.
In the afternoon, we’ll put it into practice with a field trip to the Dickenson Ranch in Dayton, WA. Seeing management on the ground is often where things click, and it’s a chance to walk through real examples and talk through what works and why.
Come ready to spend time outside. Weather in the field can be unpredictable, so dress in layers and wear sturdy footwear.
