Learn More and Work on Your Plan

Recommended Activities

  1. Make a list of all the wildlife species (birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians) that you are aware of that use your property (based on sightings, tracks, droppings, etc.).
  2. Make an inventory of the wildlife habitat features on your property. Use the Wildlife Habitat Inventory Sheet (PDF) if you wish.
  3. Identify some activities you would like to undertake to enhance wildlife habitat on your property (e.g., thinning, gap creation, habitat piles, nest boxes, snag creation).
  4. Use the information above to draft the wildlife section (Resource Category 6) of your plan, using the Wildlife Section Examples as a guide. You may have some “holes” in this section that you won’t be able to fill in until after your site visit and/or the field trip. We will provide information on any potential threatened or endangered species or priority habitats on your property.
