Twilight Forest Tour – Gig Harbor Summer 2024

An evening stroll in the forest

Join WSU Extension Forestry for a twilight tour through the woods of long-time forest steward and wildlife aficionado, Kit Ellis. Hear from Kit about the management practices she has had done on her property, including variable density thinning, root rot management, acquiring a conservation easement, and more. This is an opportunity to ask questions, see another landscape that may be like your own, and meet fellow forest owners in a relaxed and casual manner. In addition to the tour, we will be having a dessert potluck at the end of the evening!

The tour will be along a gravel driveway, as well as well-maintained forest trails that loop around the lake. The terrain is generally flat but contains trip hazards – boots or sturdy shoes are encouraged. A portable restroom will be available near the parking area. Water will be available before and after the forest walk. After our walk, we will return to the parking area to continue chatting and share desserts with one another. We do not have seating for everyone so please bring your own folding chair, if possible.
