Learn More and Work on Your Plan

Recommended Activities

  1. If fire risk is an issue on your property, consider adding some mitigation activities to the forest health (Resource Category 1) section of your plan using the Forest Health Section Examples (PDF) to guide you. This should allow you to now finish that section.
  2. If you want to include it in your plan, draft the optional specialized forest products section (Resource Category 10). Use the Specialized Forest Products Section Examples (PDF) for guidance.
  3. Using the Carbon and Climate Section Examples (PDF) as boilerplate, write the carbon sequestration and resilience to climate/weather-related influences (Resource Category 9).
  4. Draft your management timeline (see Management Timeline Examples (PDF)). Be sure to include an entry for “review and update plan” for 10 years from now and 20 years from now.
  5. Review the Quick Guide to Nomenclature and make any necessary edits to your plan.
