Hands-On Forest Health Workshop – Spring 2025

Learn about factors impacting the health of your forest

Have you been wondering, “what’s killing my trees”? Do you want to know more about a specific forest health issue that is present on your property? Want an opportunity to interact with insect and tree disease samples? Do you have questions you would like to ask a forest health expert? Learn about common forest health concerns in western Washington while spending the afternoon on a family tree farm at our hands-on forest health workshop!

This field-based workshop covers the basics of identification and treatment for common forest health issues in western Washington. The workshop will cover both biotic and abiotic forest health issues, and will include plenty of time for attendees to ask questions.

Topics covered include:

  • Root rots
  • Common tree diseases
  • Abiotic forest health concerns
  • Insects and their forest health implications
  • Diagnosing a sick or ailing tree
  • Drought and climate change impacts
  • Management options

Date and Time

4:30 p.m – 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025

Location

The workshop will be held on private forestland in Olympia, WA. Specific location information and driving directions will be sent to registrants the week leading up to the event.

Cost and Registration

Cost

The registration fee is $15 per individual or $25 per couple from the same household/ownership. Pre-registration is required.

Space is very limited! This is a small group workshop, so register early if you want a spot – this will sell out quickly.

The registration deadline is 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025. Cancellation requests must be received before 5:00 p.m. June 9, 2025 to be eligible for a refund. Humanitix processing fees are non-refundable.
