This one-day safety & maintenance class will be held at the STIHL Northwest Training Center in Centralia, WA on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024. This class will start at 8:30am and end at approx. 5:00pm. The training will start in the classroom with an in-depth description of product safety features, PPE, safe operation, and routine maintenance procedures. Once the class has ended the attendees will move into the shop for hands-on practice of the maintenance tips offered in the classroom as well as basic repairs such as starter ropes, drive sprocket replacement, etc. The goal of this class is to teach the attendees how to complete basic maintenance and repair either at their home or in the field.
The attendees should bring at least 2 products if possible, to allow them to practice the maintenance and repair procedures presented. This is a Stihl sponsored event, but all chainsaw brands are welcome!
Some additional details:
- While this class is focused on chainsaws it is okay to bring other STIHL products such as trimmers, blowers, and pole pruners.
- It is also recommended that the attendee stop by their local dealer to purchase routine maintenance parts such as air filters, fuel filters, and spark plugs.
- STIHL does not have a method to sell products directly to the attendees but if you stop by your local dealer to leave a deposit and/or get an approval letter from the dealer giving their approval to charge to their account, STIHL Northwest will be able to provide any parts the attendees may need. This will also give the person the opportunity to purchase any PPE or other supplies they’d like to leave the training with.
There is no tuition fee for the training and a hot lunch will be provided. Please bring a lunch if you have special dietary requirements. Dress appropriately for inclement weather as we will send time outside, (in a covered demonstration area), to test run the products after maintenance and repairs have been completed.
Hotels: there are several hotels in the area but the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Grand Mound, WA is only 2 miles N of STIHL NW and has a brewery/restaurant in the same parking lot.
