Did you know that you can make maple syrup from our native bigleaf maple here in Washington? Bigleaf maple yields a a delicious syrup with some unique flavors of caramel and vanilla. Join us on Thursday, February 1, 2024 near Duvall for an outdoor field workshop where you will learn the basics of collecting sap to make syrup, including tapping demonstrations and a chance to see all the tools of the trade. In addition, participants will have an opportunity to join the Washington State University Sapsucker Citizen Science Project and learn about the University of Washington’s Community Sugaring program.
