Forestry Lunch Breaks – Forest Insects

Spend lunch learning about insect pests in Western Washington!

Western Washington is home to some of the most productive forestland in the world, but that doesn’t mean our trees are “out of the woods” when it comes to pests and disease. Insect pests like bark beetles behave a little differently here than they do east of the Cascades but they can still have big impacts on forest health and function. There are also a number of non-native insects that have potential to cause significant damage to forests in this region in the coming years. Take a lunch break and learn about what to look for and how to manage your forest to be resilient to insects!

All sessions will be presented by Glenn Kohler a forest entomologist with the WDNR Forest Health Division.
